On March 6, Mr. Riaan Vermeulen, GM of Kamoa Copper Limited (“Kamoa Copper”), Mr. Daan Van Den Berg, Technical Service Manager of Kamoa Copper, Mr. Max SU, Senior Manager of Technical Service Department of Ivanhoe China, and Mr. Wei WANG, Strategic Procurement Head of Ivanhoe China, visited JCHX Lujiang Project, warmly welcomed by Mr. Jingang DING, VP of JCHX Mining, and the project management team.

Mr. Vermeulen listened to the project presentation about the scale, production capacity, development system and mining method, before going down to UG faces via cage. After when an in-depth discussion was held between Kamoa team and the project team regarding long-hole open stoping technique and parameters, waste disposal and backfilling technology. Mr. Vermeulen highly praised the project for its standardized management, work efficiency, as well as economic benefits, in particular he commended on the practice of waste rock being 100% used for backfilling.  

Meanwhile Mr. Vermeulen extended his heartfelt thanks to JCHX for all the efforts and contributions made to Kamoa project during the past 6 years and more. Mr. Van Den Berg expressed his expectations that both Kamoa Copper and JCHX shall work together to optimize mining design and improve mining technique to create more values for Kamoa project.

Then Mr. Ding delivered his sincere gratitude to Kamoa Copper and Ivanhoe for their long-term support and trust to JCHX before introducing JCHX’s comprehensive strengths and rich experience in the application of long-hole open stoping technique. He pointed out that JCHX will continue to enhance its communication with the Employer to further expand the consensus, and fully leverage its strengths in talents, skills, equipment and management to support Kamoa project to achieve production with higher efficiency and better safety.
